Here are steps the process of installing Ubuntu Linux from a CD/DVD.
- Insert the installation CD/DVD in and reset the computer
- You can press function keys to display options, select an item from the initial install screen menu, and begin bringing up a live session or installing Ubuntu when you are ready.
- As part of the process of bringing up a live session or installing Ubuntu, The installer copies tools required for the installation or to bring up a system from a live/install Desktop CD/DVD to the RAM disks.
- The installer prompts you with questions about how you want to configure Ubuntu Linux.
- When the installer is finished collecting information, it displays the Ready to install screen/ When you click Install, it writes the operating system files to the hard disk.
- The installer prompts you to remove the CD/DVD and press RETURN; it then reboots the system.
- The Ubuntu Linux system is ready for you to log in and use.
